Applied Behavior Analysis Services:  Request Submission Process Update

Requesting authorization to deliver Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to Optum Behavioral Health members has been simplified with our new digital submission process.

What this means for you

• One submission process across most states and lines of business
• No more individual forms and processes to keep track of
• A seamless way to track many requests in one place

The new digital submission experience

Rather than juggling multiple forms, providers will now use the Provider Express secure portal to submit all ABA service authorization requests. Simply follow these steps:

• Sign in to the Provider Portal using a One Healthcare ID
• Need to register for a One Healthcare ID? First-time users can register now
• From the’ Auths’ menu in the Provider Portal, select 'Auth Request', complete the steps and select continue
• You will receive a pop-up verification notice and an email with a request number when your submission is successful
• To check the status of a request submission, go to the ‘Auths’ menu and click the request number

Please note that some states still require state-specific request submission forms. You will be redirected to the appropriate state process if your request is in one of these locations.
