H1 Value-based care - A new approach in behavioral health that connects the care for mind with care for the body

Value-based care (VBC) applies the best practices from physical medicine to behavioral health.  It provides a comprehensive look into all factors for consideration when making a diagnosis and providing treatment.

This video highlights this holistic approach to VBC behavioral health.

What is VBC?

A data-driven model of care that shifts away from transactional fee-for-service. VBC is based on the quality of care rather than the number of times a patient is seen and provides a shared purpose of improving patient outcomes.

Why does VBC matter?

Determining what treatment is going to work best is often a hurdle in behavioral health. Giving providers detailed data from patient records enhances diagnosis and treatment decisions and provides financial incentives for doing so.

What changes clinically?

VBC provides visibility into risks and opportunities for treatment integration. Life factors which influence wellbeing are considered when diagnosing and creating care plans. This can lead to better informed treatment.
